Christmas races

Christmas races

by | Jan 5, 2015

Well, it seems like a long time since I updated the last blog…so much has happened. We have been training in Pitztal, since the beginning of December, in preparation for 2 x IPCAS races and 2 x European Cup, also in Pitztal. Some of my Team mates had been training before hand in Hintertux but I had school to attend. It was great to catch up with them all and Euan Bennett. We were also lucky enough to have some help with the coaching from Dougie Crawford (Dougie Crawford is Britain’s top male downhill ski racer.)
Training went well and Jen and I seem to be really getting it together. We worked on our distance and communication and obviously our skiing technique. We had not raced together for over 18 months and even then we had only done two IPCAS level races. We were both nervous and couldn’t wait to get the first one under our belt to see where we stood amongst the other female VI’s. We shouldn’t have worried, we did very well and in fact won our first GS, then went on to get gold in all 6 races, IPCAS GS, Europa cup GS AND EC slalom. We now have World Cup points in GS and slalom and we are top of the leader board in Europa cup… A great few weeks!
This month I have my GCSE maths exam and my mocks then I hope to go to America with the team and then on to Canada for the World Champs in March. I will keep you posted of our progress. Thank you for reading my blog and for your support.
