It is now 500 days to go until The Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics, it feels like yesterday that I was competing at the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Paralympics. 4 years sounds like a long time, but it really isn’t at all.
We headed out to Stelvio, Italy on the 25th September for our first glacier camp of the season. It was incredible to be back on real snow after almost 9 months of only being able to trin indoors. Getting used to the altitude again (3,500m) was a bit of a shock to the system, however it didn’t take too long to get used to.
During our first few days we trained slalom, which again was really great because we were finally able to train a full-length slalom course (around 60 gates). After a few bad weather days, we trained Giant Slalom (GS) where we made some good changes to our technique. It was a fairly intense 2-week camp with some long days but hopefully some progress was made, and it has really set us up well for our next camp in Austria.
Thank you to our wonderful new coaching set up, who have already made a massive impact and I really look forward to our next camp together on the 26th October!
