Back on snow in Austria
I am writing this blog from Tux in Austria. It is our first time on real snow since January, where Brett and I trained with the Royal Navy Winter Sports (RNWSA).
Since then, we have trained regularly in Landgraff throughout the Summer months and really got some hours under our belt – in between some rib and hand injuries.
I felt strong and more determined than I’ve been in a couple of years. I still have a way to go to get back to pre-crash form but I really felt like I can do this.
Thank you Hammy for a great camp and great coaching.
It’s been a while since I smiled in the mountains!
After a long break through the Summer, I am now looking forward to getting stuck into some serious training on snow. I have been a little poorly since my last blog and I finally have the all clear to get going again.
Brett and I have been working hard in the gym and following a great programme from Scott and Catherine. Brett is looking really good and will be a force to be reckoned with – I hope that I can keep up with him.
We are training in Austria for a couple of weeks with our new coach Amanda Pirie, then moving on to our first World Cup races towards Christmas. It is going to be a very busy season, with the World Championships in Tarvisio, Italy in January and the World Cup finals and test events in Pyeongchang, South Korea in March and the British Champs in Tignes in April…to name but a few.
This season, we have two new sponsors with Reusch Gloves and Finden Consulting. I really appreciate their support and look forward to showing them some good results. Many thanks to all our sponsors and supporters for helping Brett and I get on that road to Pyeongchang 2018.
Keep in touch with our progress here or on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
