Covid-19 Lockdown

Covid-19 Lockdown

by | Apr 8, 2020

As I sit and contemplate finishing off my University course work, before knuckling down to some serious revision for my end of year online exams in May and June, I’m distracted by the thought of 667 days left before the 2022 Winter Paralympics in Beijing. Hopefully, this will be my 3rd Games. We have a lot of work to do in the next 2 seasons to prove that we are worthy of being selected but I am really pleased with how well the last one has gone.

Brett and I had a few interruptions for one reason or another, during this last race cycle, but made good progress throughout. Even though we were being chased around Europe by this wretched virus, that finally ended our race season prematurely.

There were so many positives though, our two new coaches, Hammy Morison and Jo Ryding joined us this season. They made a massive improvement to my skiing and confidence. I look forward to working closely with them for the rest of this Paralympic cycle. Thanks Guys!

Obviously, our training has been suspended until the World is in a stronger position to fight Covid-19. In the meantime, I am trying to improve my fitness and strength (from home), so that I’m ready to get going when the time is right.

Stay safe and stay at home!

Recovering from yet another concussion had undoubtedly taken its toll, physically, mentally, and particularly on our progress on skis and training.
